Visit Wadden has a clear goal: showing how beautiful the Wadden Islands can be in the colder months. Real islanders tell their stories and show what makes the low season so special.
This campaign is 'Niet voor Wadjes' (not for wimps), so a perfect fit for Blksm.
So the Blksm crew hopped on the boat to visit all the islands. Birdwatcher Folkert took us up into the dunes, where there's so much to see precisely in the low season. 'If at all possible, I'm outside all day,' he tells us. Marijke also finds peace in nature while forest bathing.
On Ameland, Lyce takes us along for some mudflat hiking. She could point out exactly where the best shots were hiding. Life you wouldn't spot at first glance.
According to Orpheus, the autumn months are the most beautiful. The warm, calm sea is the perfect stage for surfing.
Cynthia mapped out a walking route for the whole family. 'Being aware of nature starts with playing outside' — which is why this route across Schiermonnikoog is exciting and interesting for kids. Melis discovered yet another beautiful side of the islands: the clear starry sky. Almost too beautiful to film.
